Other Multi-Day Tour - 4 Days / 3 Nights

Day #1 – Wednesday, August 29th:

8:00 AM - Meet your driver & escort(s) at Peoria Charter Coach’s Waiting Room at the corner of NE Adams & Alexander Streets (Enter off Alexander).

8:15 AM - Welcome aboard as we depart for our destination – Omaha, Nebraska! Enjoy a Continental Breakfast* aboard the coach as we travel. We’ll also make necessary rest & meal stops along the way.

5:00 PM - Arriving in Omaha we check into our home for the next 3 nights – the Regency Lodge*. The Lodge combines the amenities of a business-class hotel with the relaxing atmosphere of an upscale mountain retreat.

6:30 PM - Dinner* is served at the German American Society. Since we’re visiting "Germany" tonight we’ve selected Sauerbraten as our main course served with red cabbage, mashed potatoes & gravy, salad, veggie, rolls & butter, coffee & dessert. Following dinner you’ll enjoy Die Singenden Wanderer – a men’s singing group* as they entertain us with a variety of hiking, hunting, seafaring and bier-drinking songs from Bavaria to the North Sea. We’ll also enjoy Heimat Tänzer – Homeland Dancers* as they promote and display German folk dancing and Tracht (traditional dress).

9:00 PM - Following a fantastic evening learning about the German culture, we head back to the lodge for a good night’s sleep.


Day #2 – Thursday, August 30th:

Hot Breakfast Buffet* is served here at the Lodge this morning.

8:15 AM - We board our coach and depart for the Omaha Visitor’s Center.

8:45 AM - After picking up our Step-on Guide* at the Visitor’s Center, we’re off for a 2-hour tour*. This driving tour gives us an overview of Omaha’s points of interest past, present & future. Some of the sites you’ll see are: Billionaire Warren Buffet’s residence, 1903 Joslyn Scottish Castle, St. Cecilia’s Spanish Cathedral, former President Gerald Ford’s birth-site and much more.

10:45 AM - We drop off our step-on guide and depart for our next attraction.

11:00 AM - We arrive at the TD Ameritrade Park for a tour* (this is subject to change as they won’t let us tour if they have venue happening) TD Ameritrade became the home field of the College World Series after the NCAA signed an agreement to keep the CWS in Omaha until at least 2035 if the ballpark was built. "The Trade, as the park is sometimes called, is also the home of the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL. (However, the stadium is not the home of the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers, as the smaller Werner Park was built for them in the suburbs. In the spring, TD Ameritrade Park is used as the home field for Creighton Bluejays Baseball and hosts the Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament.

12:10 PM - Enjoy lunch on your own in the Historic Old Market District. Here there is a gathering of unique and interesting shops, boutiques, pubs, restaurants and entertainment spots amid century-old warehouses, brick streets and metal canopies! Shop bookstores to bakeries, art galleries to antiques, clothing to collectibles, then dine in one of more than 30 area restaurants and sidewalk cafes.

1:45 PM - Travel to West Omaha to the world-famous Father Flanagan’s Boys Town (renamed Girls & Boys Town).

2:15 PM - An actual working town, Boys Town is an inspirational stop on any tour. Visit the hall of history to learn the interesting history of this city of children. View a number of beautiful chapels and tour the restored 1920’s home of Father Flanagan.

4:00 PM - We return to the hotel for a short while so you can freshen up before our evening attraction.

5:30 PM - Depart for the Renaissance Mansion & the "Titanic Dinner"*.

6:00 PM - Travel back in time to the fateful night of the sinking of the world’s most famous luxury liner, the R.M.S. Titanic. Experience the Titanic Dinner at the Renaissance Mansion*. Enjoy an authentic eight-course meal from the ship’s original turn-of-the-century menu along with the company of such characters as Molly Brown and Captain Smith. This meal event is considered to be one of the top group attractions in Omaha. (6:00 – 8:00 PM)

8:15 PM - We’ve got one last attraction for you this evening. We board the River City Star Riverboat for a Moonlight Sightseeing Cruise*. Relax as you cruise down the Missouri River. View the city from the river and learn about various sites along the river.

9:15 PM - Disembark and depart for the hotel for a refreshing night’s sleep.


Day #3 – Friday, August 31st:

Hot Breakfast Buffet* is served here at the Lodge this morning.

8:15 AM - Our coach awaits us as we depart for Outlook Nebraska Inc.

8:30 AM - This morning we’ll enjoy the Toilet Paper Factory Tour*. This is a "behind the scenes" tour of a toilet paper factory. The factory makes toilet paper for all Military bases in the USA and overseas. All of the assembly line employees are blind or nearly blind. Many come to work with their guide dogs. You are invited to take a roll off the assembly line as a gift. (8:30 – 9:30 AM)

9:30 AM - Next we’re off to Lauritzen Gardens for a tour*. Solitude and beauty are found in 100-acres of outdoor gardens. You’ll see 2,000 roses in a formal setting; a spectacular Victorian perennial garden and an indoor ever changing Floral Display hall. The Tram* is included and takes you to all the gardens and new scenic railroad park on top of the hill. Here you’ll see the largest train engines ever built. (9:45 – 11:30 AM)

11:30 AM - Our next attraction is one of Nebraska’s Top Attractions – the Omaha Zoo*. The Zoo has the world’s largest Desert Dome and Jungle Complex. You can lunch (on your own) at the Jungle Café overlooking the Rain Forrest. The Omaha Zoo is known nation-wide as one of the top zoo’s in the nation. It features Kingdoms of the Night, Gorilla Valley, Orangutan Forrest and New Butterfly complex. (11:45 – 3:00 PM)

3:00 PM - We depart for the Historic 1879 General Crook House for a tour*. Located on the grounds of Old Fort Omaha, this 1879 Victorian Mansion features an heirloom garden and antique piano in the parlor. It’s probably the only historic home where you are encouraged to sit on the furniture. Guides will tell you the story of the trail of Standing Bear while here. (3:30 – 5:00 PM)

5:00 PM - This evening we’re off to the Omaha Community Playhouse for dinner, tour & performance*. This is the largest Community Playhouse in the USA. The musicals are big Broadway style productions. Founded in the 1920’s, the playhouse has two stages, costume department and set design staff. The show is (TBD) and we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner while here. After the performance we’ll enjoy a short behind-the-scenes tour. (5:30 – 9:00 PM)

9:00 PM - We depart for the hotel get a relaxing night’s sleep.


Day #4 – Saturday, September 1st:

Hot Breakfast Buffet* is served here at the Lodge this morning.

8:00 AM - After a wonderful tour of Omaha we depart for home making necessary rest & meal stops along the way.

4:45 PM - Approximate arrival time back in Peoria.
