Fall Colors in Door County

Day #1 – Tuesday, October 12th: 6:30 AM - Depart Peoria headed towards Door County, Wisconsin. The fall colors will be beautiful this time of year. We’ll make rest and meal stops as needed along the way. 4-4:30 PM - We’ll arrive in Sturgeon Bay at our home for the next three nights – Homestead Suites*. Upon arrival you’ll have time to freshen up prior to dinner. 5:30 PM - Dinner* is included at The Cookery Restaurant. The remainder of the evening is free to enjoy the resort and relax after a long travel day. Day #2 – Wednesday, October 13th: 7:00 AM - Breakfast* is included this morning at Julie’s Cafe, next door to our hotel. 8:30 AM - Today, we’ll enjoy an entire day of touring Door County* with our Step-on Guide*. We’ll tour* the quaint villages located here and explore this charming peninsula. Included in our tour is the Dan Meuniers Concert in a School House*, The Bjorklunden Chapel*, and Bailey Harbor. Lunch* is included today at the famous Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant where the goats graze on the roof. Following lunch we’ll continue our tour visiting the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse* as we go. (8:45AM – 4:00PM tour time) 4:30 PM - We return to the hotel where you’ll have a chance to freshen up before we depart for dinner. 5:15 PM - We re-board our awaiting coach and depart for The Summer Kitchen Restaurant where you’ll enjoy dinner*. 6:30 PM - Let’s board the coach for our short ride to the American Folklore Theatre for our evening show – "TBD"*. (7:30 PM Showtime) Day #3 – Thursday, October 14th: 7:30 AM - Breakfast* is again included at Julie’s Cafe. 10:00 AM - Let’s board our awaiting motorcoach for the ride to the Ferry* which takes us across to Washington Island. 11:00 AM - We board the Ferry, which takes us across to Washington Island. 11:30 AM - Upon reaching the Island, we meet up with our Cherry Train Tours Step-On Guide* who will be with us while here on Washington Island. We begin our time on the Island with a delicious roast beef sandwich Lunch* at the Ship’s Wheel Restaurant. (11:45 – 12:45 PM Lunch) 12:45 PM - Let’s board the Cherry Train Trolley for our afternoon tour*. The tour is an 18-mile, 90-minute narrated tour with selected stops along the way. Share the history, folklore and legends of island life with your expert guide. Leave your worries on the mainland, relax and see Washington Island in grand style … on the one and only … Cherry Train! 2:30 PM - You’ll have about 1/2 hour following the tour to get in a little shopping before we board the ferry for the ride back to the mainland. 3:00 PM - Let’s board the ferry* for the ride back to the mainland. 3:30 PM - Upon reaching the mainland, our deluxe motorcoach awaits us to take us to Ellison Bay to the Viking Restaurant for a Door County tradition – a Fish Boil*. (Boil over scheduled for 4:30 p.m. followed by dinner*) Day #4 – Friday, October 15th: 7:00 AM - Breakfast* is included this morning at Julie’s Cafe before we begin our journey towards home. 9:00 AM - It’s time to board the coach and depart for home making rest and meal stops along the way. Enjoy Pretzels & Soda* en route as well. 6:30 PM - Approximate arrival time back at Peoria Charter Coach.
