5:45 AM - Depart Peoria headed for the "Gateway to the West" – St. Louis, Missouri. Enjoy Continental Breakfast* as travel. We’ll make a rest area stop along the way. 10:15 AM - Arriving in St. Louis, our first stop is at Mama Campisi’s for a lecture and cooking prep demo*. Here you’ll see how they make the delicious "Toasted Ravioli" that St. Louis is so famous for. (10:15 – 11:15 AM) 11:15 AM - Following the demo, we’re seated for a delicious Lunch* that we just watched being homemade. Lunch consists of Chicken Spedini and Toasted Ravioli as well as salad, pasta, non-alcoholic beverage, Italian bread and Olive oil dipping sauce. Yum, Yum, Yum. 12:30 PM - After lunch, we’ll enjoy a Tour of the bakery and pickup our dessert – Canolli*. 1:00 PM - Afternoon finds us with our Step-on Guide* enjoying a tour of "The Hill"*. Throughout the tour there will be a discussion and handouts on "The Hill" natives cooking styles both Northern & Southern Italian, specialty dishes at local restaurants plus a description of celebrities who like to dine there. We’ll make stops at the Gelato Shop, homemade soap outlet, Volpi’s for a "free" sample of Salami & Prosciutto, Stop at DeGregorio’s for cheese & sausage tasting and a stop at Missouri Bakery. (1 – 3:00 PM) 3:15 PM - We say goodbye to our guide and depart towards home making a break stop enroute. 8:00 PM - Approximate arrival time back in Peoria.
