5:45 AM - Meet your escort at Peoria Charter Coach waiting room at the corner of NE Adams & Alexander Streets. 6:00 AM - Depart Peoria for St. Louis – "The Gateway to the West"! We’ll make a 1/2 hour fast food stop en route. 10:00 AM - We’ll arrive at the St. Louis Zoo*, which is a great place to not only enjoy a variety of animals, but also to enjoy these fun attractions: Conservation Carousel, Insectaruim, Zooline Railroad, Sea Lion Show, Children’s Zoo, Wild Adventure Ride, and Deep Sea 3-D Movie. **(Admission to the Zoo is FREE although there are fees for some attractions at your own expense). Lunch is on your own here as well. 1:00 PM - Depart for St. Louis Arch. 1:30 PM - This afternoon will be spent at the St. Louis Arch*. Underneath the north and south legs of the Gateway Arch, you can board one of two enclosed trams*. Four minutes later, after a narrated trip, you’re at the indoor Gateway Arch Observation Area. The entrance to each leg of the Arch contains a different informational exhibit. The north leg display includes fascinating photographs and information about the construction of the Arch. The south leg display shows life along the St. Louis riverfront in the 1800s. A movie* has also been included. See the adventure of Lewis and Clark on the Odyssey Theatre’s giant four-story screen, narrated by Jeff Bridges, this film takes you with Lewis and Clark to explore the unchartered lands of the Louisiana Purchase and beyond. 5:00 PM - Depart for home making a meal stop along the way. 9:00 PM - Approximate arrival time in Peoria.
