Gettysburg & Lancaster , Pennsylvania Departure: Tuesday, July 13, 2010 Other Multi-Day Tour - 7 Days / 6 Nights July 13 - 19, 2010 |

Day #1-Tuesday, July 13th: 6:15 AM - Meet your escort at Peoria Charter Coach Meeting Room at the corner of NE Adams & Alexander Streets (enter off Alexander). 6:30 AM - Depart Peoria from the Charter Coach waiting room. A Continental Breakfast* will be served on the coach as we travel eastward. We will also make rest and meal stops as needed. Be sure to change your watches to Eastern Time as we enter Indiana. 4:00 PM - We have arrived in Grove City, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, where we will check into the Drury Inn & Suites*. 5:30 PM - Depart for a Dinner Buffet* at Schmidts Meeting Haus in the Historic German Village area. Day #2-Wednesday, July 14th: Enjoy Drurys Quikstart Breakfast* this morning. 7:00 AM - Check out for an early start as we complete the last leg of our journey to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We'll make rest and meal stops along the way. 4:00 PM - We have arrived in Lancaster at the Holiday Inn Express*, our home for the next four nights. We have an hour to freshen up. 5:00 PM - Depart for the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre for Dinner* and Show*, "The King and I". Day #3-Thursday, July 15th: A Continental Breakfast* is included this morning here at the hotel. 8:30 PM - Meet our guide* in the lobby before departing on our "Progressive Meal Tour"*. Todays adventure includes Landis Valley Museum* where among other things, we will enjoy Sticky Buns & Snitz*. After a tour* at the Kreider Dairy Farm we will enjoy an ice cream cone*. We will indulge in our main entrée at Bubes Brewery* after our tour* of the Catacombs! This afternoon, our guide will take us out onto the "roads less traveled" through the heart of Amish Farmlands. Well top off our day, with Dessert* at an Amish home. 5:30 PM - We find ourselves back at the hotel with the evening free to have dinner on our own and visit the shops here at the Rockvale Outlets. (As you have already noticed our hotel sits in the middle of this mall, so everything is within walking distance) Day #4-Friday, July 16th: A Continental Breakfast* is available again this morning at the hotel. 8:00 AM - Depart for a day in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. 9:15 AM - We have arrived in Gettysburg at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitors Center*, which houses 12 galleries, the inspiring film A New Birth of Freedom, interactive "hands-on" exhibits and the 1884 Cyclorama. Noon - We drive the short distance to General Picketts Buffet for Lunch*. 2:00 PM - Back at the Visitors Center, we board their coach for the Eisenhower National Historic Site*. 4:00 PM - After returning to the Visitors Center, we will depart with our National Park Service Licensed Guide* for a tour* of the Gettysburg Battlefield. 6:00 PM - Depart for Lancaster, stopping along the way in York for Dinner* at San Carlos Restaurant. Day #5-Saturday, July 17th: Continental Breakfast* is again offered here at the hotel. 8:30 AM - Board our coach and depart for nearby Lititz, Pennsylvania for a tour* of the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery followed by a tour* of the Candy Americana Museum and Candy Store. 11:15 AM - Before departing Lititz, we will have lunch on our own across the street at a local favorite, Freeze & Frizz. Noon - Time to depart for Strasburg, Pennsylvania for a ride* on the Strasburg Railroad and time to visit the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania*. 3:30 PM - We will return to the hotel for time to relax or explore more of the Rockvale Outlet stores. 5:00 PM - Board the coach for Dinner* at Good & Plenty Restaurant before arriving at the American Music Theatre for the Show*, "California Soul". Sit back and enjoy the music from the era of the Beach Boys, the Eagles and more. Day #6-Sunday, July 18th: Enjoy one final Continental Breakfast* here at the hotel. 7:30 AM - Check out, say "goodbye" to Lancaster County and depart for home. We'll make rest and meal stops along the way. 3:00 PM - We check into the Hampton Inn in Cambridge, Ohio. Freshen up before departing for our evenings experience. 4:00 PM - Depart for the Wilds for their Sunset Safari*. Our magical evening begins with a Buffet Dinner* on the deck of the Overlook Café. After dinner, board one of the Wilds unique Open Air Safari vehicles for a twilight tour* of the animal areas,including stops at the Carnivore Conservation Center and the Rhino Management Facility. Day #7-Monday, July 19th: An Expanded Continental Breakfast* is offered here at the hotel. 8:30 AM - Check out and depart for home making rest and meal stops along the way. Be sure to change your watches back to Central Time as we enter Illinois. 5:30 PM - Approximate arrival time in Peoria.
