Day #1 - Friday, June 13th: 6:00 AM - Depart Peoria headed northeast to our overnight stop in Gaylord, Michigan. Enjoy a Continental Breakfast* aboard the coach as we travel and we'll make necessary rest & meal stops along the way. Don't forget to set your watches ahead an hour upon entering Michigan & the Eastern Time Zone. 6:00 PM - After a long travel day, we arrive in Gaylord at Big Buck's Brewery & Steakhouse for a delicious dinner* before checking into our hotel for the evening. 7:30 PM - We arrive at the Hampton Inn* where we'll have time to relax before completing our journey to Mackinac Island tomorrow. Day #2 - Saturday, June 14th: Continental Breakfast* is served at the hotel before we check out and depart for Mackinaw City. 9:45 AM - Arriving in Mackinaw City we board Shepler's Ferry* to cross over to our home for the next 2 nights, The Inn on Mackinac Island*. 10:30 AM - Our Carriage Tour* awaits us as we reach the Island. The luggage will be delivered to the hotel while we enjoy a horse-drawn carriage tour* of the Island. Your full-narrated tour begins in the center of main street and offers you stops at: Surrey Hills Museum (Free Admission); Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory (additional admission fee); Arch Rock; Fort Mackinac Avenue of Flags (additional admission fee) and drops you off at The Grand Hotel. 12:30 PM - Experience the unique atmosphere in the Main Dining Room of The Grand Hotel - overlooking the "Straits of Mackinac". The Grand Luncheon Buffet* extends nearly 100 feet, and offers an assortment of seafood, hotel entrees, meats sliced to perfection, crisp salads, wheels of savory cheeses, soups, fruits, vegetables, breads & more. The dessert table is incomparable, with over 20 different selections, all freshly baked each day in their own pastry kitchen. 2:00 PM - Following lunch you'll have time to "sit on the front porch and rock" while you relax with the peacefulness of this serene area. When ready, you can take a taxi* back to downtown or the hotel to rest up a bit. 6:30 PM - Dinner* is served at the hotel this evening. Day #3 - Sunday, June 15th: Enjoy a Deluxe Continental Breakfast* this morning with a "Free Day" to explore the Island at your leisure. There are bikes to rent if you're so inclined or you might want to walk downtown and visit the shops located there. Lunch is on your own today. This afternoon you can watch the "Lilac Parade" from our hotel porch or find you a spot downtown to see the various floats come by. Dinner* is once again included here at the hotel tonight. Day #4 - Monday, June 16th: Another Deluxe Continental Breakfast* is served at the hotel before we pack up to depart for home. 9:15 AM - We check out and take Shepler's Ferry* back across to the mainland where our coach awaits us. Once the luggage is loaded and the passengers are seated, we'll depart for Frankenmuth, Michigan. 1:15 PM - Arriving in Frankenmuth, we'll give you time to shop at Bronner's Christmas Store* or take in some of the other local attractions on your own. 3:00 PM - We'll check into our home for the night - the Bavarian Inn Lodge* where you'll have time to relax and freshen up before dinner. 6:30 PM - Dinner & Entertainment* are included here at the hotel this evening. Day #5 - Tuesday, June 17th: Hot Breakfast Buffet* is included this morning before we head for home. 8:00 AM - We depart for home making rest & meal stops as needed along the way. Don't forget to set your watches back an hour as we enter Illinois & the Central Time Zone. 5:00 PM - Approximate arrival time back in Peoria.
