Holland Tulip Festival *SOLD OUT*

Day #1 - Wednesday, May 7th: 5:15 AM - Meet your escort at Peoria Charter Coach waiting room at the corner of NE Adams & Alexander Streets. 5:30 AM - Depart from PCC Waiting Room for Holland, Michigan - home to the annual Holland Tulip Festival! We'll enjoy Continental Breakfast* along the way as well as making rest and meal stops. Don't forget to set your watches ahead one hour to Eastern Time upon entering Michigan. 1:30 PM - Arriving in Holland, we head straight to the Volksparade* with reserved bleacher seating*. The Volksparade features dozens of colorful bands, floats, and more. The Exhibition Dutch Dance groups "Klomp" along the tour in their authentic costumes and real wooden shoes! (Parade begins @ 2:00 P.M. and will end at 3:30 P.M.) 3:30 PM - Following the parade, we'll head to the Best Western Hotel in Saugatuck, MI*. You'll have time to freshen up before we return to Holland for our evening event. 5:30 PM - It's time to depart for Holland where we'll end up at Hope College/Haworth Inn for a new dinner show - New Odyssey*! Playing everywhere to the delight and surprise of their audiences, these three gentlemen perform literally on more than thirty musical instruments, a feat of cheerful abandon and confidence that is astonishing by any standard. Dynamic arrangements from Beethoven to the present, missed with some of the most original treatments of comedy, music novelty and vocal acrobatics. Dinner will be petite dinner salad, oven roasted pork loin with creamy mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggie, dinner rolls with butter, fruit crisp and iced tea, lemonade, coffee or hot tea. (6:30 - 9:00 PM) Day #2 - Thursday, May 8th: Continental Breakfast* is served at the hotel. 8:00 AM - This morning we'll board the coach and depart for Veldheer Tulip Gardens, Wooden Shoe & Delft Factory for a tour*. Enjoy 30-acres of tulips at Holland's only tulip farm. You'll also be able to enjoy a "free" factory tour and a tour of the Delftware Factory - the only one located within the United States. There's also a magnificent gift shop here. (8:45 - 11:00 AM) 11:30 AM - After visiting Veldheer Gardens, its just a short drive south to Dutch Village* for an afternoon of exploring this amazing attraction. You can enjoy lunch on your own while here. Dutch Village is celebrating over 46 years of history. There is live entertainment throughout the village as well as Dutch Folk Dancing, Wooden Shoe Carving, Historical Museums, Documentary Movies and one of the largest selections of imported gifts in the state. (11:30 - 2:00 PM) 2:00 PM - We board our awaiting coach and depart for Windmill Island for a tour*. Wind your way through the historic camp filled with colonial merchants and re-enactors. Learn what Dutch trade items were sought after 200 years ago and shop for your own piece of the past to take home. (2:30 - 4:00 PM) 4:00 PM - Our final stop will be a the Dutch Marketplaats* where you'll enjoy a style show as well as a little shopping time either here or in downtown Holland. (4:15 - 5:15 PM) 5:30 PM - Buffet Dinner* is served at a local church. (5:30 - 6:30 PM) 7:00 PM - We depart for Central Wesleyan Auditorium where we'll enjoy a fantastic performance by Tony Orlando*. As one of America's most endearing and enduring stars, Tony brings to the stage a warm and exhilarating energy that electrifies every audience. From million selling records including five #1 hits, a popular television variety series, movies and Broadway, he has conquered every facet of show business. Like a painter, Tony is an artist who steps onto a stage as if it were a blank canvas. Each show he weaves colorful emotions set to music touching the deepest part of a person's heart. (8:00 - 9:30 PM Showtime) 9:45 PM - Depart for the hotel for the evening. Day #3 - Friday, May 9th: Continental Breakfast* is served at the hotel. 8:30 AM - We check out, board the coach and head to Michigan City, Indiana. You'll need to change your watches back as we reach Michigan City as they are on the Central Time Zone. 9:00 AM- Arriving in Michigan City, we make a stop at the Barker Mansion for a tour*. The 38-room mansion, built in 1857 and modeled after English Victorian manors, was the home of John H. Barker, founder of the Haskell & Barker Railroad Car Co. Many original furnishings and works of art adorn the interior. The house features hand-carved marble fireplaces; mahogany, walnut & teak woodwork; baroque ceilings; a third-story ballroom; and a sunken garden. (9 - 10:15 AM Tour) 10:30 PM - Our next stop will be at the Great Lakes Museum of Military History for a tour*. There is military memorabilia on display from the Revolutionary War to the present including uniforms, edged weapons, flags, maps, a large collection of firearms and a World War II Japanese Declaration of War captured by the U.S. Army. An Operation Iraqi Freedom exhibit is also featured. (10:45 - Noon Tour) 12:15 PM - After boarding the coach, we'll head to a nearby restaurant where we'll enjoy a delicious Lunch* before departing for home. (12:30 - 1:45 PM) 1:45 PM - It's time to depart towards home making rest stops as needed along the way. 6:00 PM - Approximate arrival time back in Peoria.
