Cruise - 14 Days / 13 Nights August 3 - 16, 2008

Day #1 - Sunday, August 3:

Peoria / Vancouver -

Motorcoach from your pick up point to Peoria Regional Airport with connecting flights to Vancouver. Today you will embark upon the MS Zaandam.

Day #2 - Monday, August 4:

Cruising the Inside Passage

Today will be spent at sea cruising through the Inside Passage. This is a scenic waterway
that reaches 1,000 miles from beautiful British Columbia to Skagway, Alaska. You'll cruise through a maze of bays, straits, arms and fjords, past an ever-changing panorama of unspoiled beauty. Meanwhile, check out the shuffleboard, bridge and shopping onboard. Participate in an aerobics class followed by a relaxing massage.

Day #3 - Tuesday, August 5:

Ketchikan

With 3,000 foot high Deer Mountain looming behind, there never was much room for Ketchikan to expand. Therefore, much of the town was built on trestles, docks, and pilings at the water's edge. There is shopping, contemporary art galleries and quaint boutiques.

Day #4 - Wednesday, August 6:

Juneau

Juneau is nestled into the foot of the mountains lining Gastineau Channel. We have the entire day to explore what is often called the nation's most scenic capital city. If you want a taste of what the old days were like, walk into the Red Dog Saloon and travel back in time to an old time dance hall, complete with a honky-tonk piano and a sawdust floor. If you're looking for an authentic Alaskan souvenir, Juneau is the place to buy gold nuggets.

Day #5 - Thursday, August 7:

Skagway

This Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park boasts restored buildings, wooden boardwalks and the famed White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, which is steaming through its second century of traveling "The Scenic Railway of the World." Browse the rustic shops along Main Street and enjoy the honky-tonk piano music at the Red Onion Saloon.

Day #6 - Friday, August 8:

Cruising Glacier Bay National Park

One of Alaska's most dramatic sights, the Glacier Bay will hold you spellbound. Before you, thousand-year old glacier ice cliffs in countless shades of white, blue, gray and green rise straight from the sea. Suddenly, a slab the size of a house breaks off and 'calves' into the sea in a spectacle of thunder and flying spray. The onboard National Park Service Ranger will narrate for those wishing to listen. Also, be sure to explore the ship and enjoy the various amenities and activities.

Day #7 - Saturday, August 9:

Cruising College Fjord

This day at sea will be spent cruising scenic College Fjord. Branching from Prince William Sound, this breathtaking fjord harbors 16 tidewater glaciers, all named for the colleges that funded their discovery on the Harriman Expedition of 1899. Taking a turn around the Promenade Deck, you'll be able to observe a possible six different glaciers at once.
