Other Multi-Day Tour - 11 Days / 10 Nights September 27 - October 7, 2008

Day #1 - Saturday, September 27th:

6:15 AM - Meet your escort at Peoria Charter Coach waiting room at the corner of NE Adams & Alexander Streets.

6:30 AM - Depart Peoria headed east to Austintown, Ohio where we'll overnight. Enjoy a Continental Breakfast* on board the coach and we'll make rest & meal stops along the way as needed. Don't forget to set your watches ahead an hour upon entering Indiana as we've entered the Eastern Time Zone.

6:30 PM - Arriving in Austintown, Ohio, we check into our hotel for the evening. Dinner* is included this evening.


Day #2 - Sunday, September 28th:

Rise & Shine to a delicious Continental Breakfast* served at the hotel.

8:00 AM - We're off for another "travel day" towards the East Coast. Again we'll make necessary rest & meal stops along the way. Dinner* is included this evening along the way.

7:00 PM - Approximate arrival time in Uncasville, Connecticut at our home for the evening.


Day #3 - Monday, September 29th:

Enjoy a Deluxe Continental Breakfast* this morning here at the hotel before our day of touring begins.

Today we'll visit Mystic Seaport, the Brick Marketplace in Newport, Rhode Island and visit the Marble House Mansion for a tour. At Mystic Seaport* you'll experience the lifestyle and interesting artifacts of the "Age of Sail" as we tour* through this New England Village. Board a New England "Tall Ship". Discover the dangers and adventures of "whaling" aboard the 19th-Century whale ship - Charles W. Morgan. In Newport, you'll explore the Brick Marketplace* filled with shops, galleries and restaurants and have time to enjoy lunch on your own. And finally, we'll tour* the Marble House Mansion. This sumptuous Vanderbilt-owned mansion is made with 500,000 cubic feet of American, Italian & African Marble at a cost of $11-million in the 80's.

Our next 2 nights will be in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts at the Bayside Resort Hotel. Dinner* is included this evening followed by a Cabaret-style show.


Day #4 - Tuesday, September 30th:

You'll enjoy a Full Breakfast* before we set out for a day of exploring.

We meet our local guide* and depart for our Cape Cod Tour*. In Hyannis see the Kennedy Memorial, St. Xavier's Church and the Hyannis-port neighborhood of the Kennedy compound. Travel Olde King's Highway dotted with historic Cape Cod architecture and New England Inns. See famous lighthouses, historic Windmills, the giant dunes of Truro, the Pristine Provincelands, and visit a Cape Cod Seashore Visitor's Center focusing on the interesting natural history of this unique area. Time will be given in Provincetown to explore and enjoy lunch on your own. Afternoon finds us enjoying a Hyannis Harbor Cruise. This one-hour narrated cruise is aboard a replica of a Maine Coastal Steamer. See pristine shorelines, Hyannis Yacht Club, scenic harbor islands and the best view of the Kennedy compound. Hear the history & stories of famous residents. Dinner* is included this evening.


Day #5 - Wednesday, October 1st:

Another Full Breakfast* awaits you this morning before we check out and drive north.

En route to Boston, we'll make a stop in "America's Hometown" - Plymouth waterfront. Here you'll see Plymouth Rock, the Pilgrim's landing site and views of the Mayflower II. We continue on to Boston for a city tour with a local guide*. This capital city tour includes the USS Constitution (the oldest warship afloat in the US Navy), Beacon Hill, the Fleet Center, The Boston Common, Bunker Hill, Boston Public Garden, State House, Old North Church and time to explore the famous Fanieul Hall/Quincy Market filled with shops, cars of hand-crafted gifts and eateries. Lunch will be on your own today. On our way to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, we'll make a "photo stop" at Nubble Lighthouse - Maine's most photographed lighthouse. A true down east Lobsterbake (dinner*) is included this evening along with musical entertainment. Our home for the next 2 nights is in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.


Day #6 - Thursday, October 2nd:

A delicious Deluxe Continental Breakfast* is served this morning at the hotel.

Today we're visiting the Strawberry Banke Museum for a tour*. Located in the charming Strawberry Banke historic district, this living museum celebrates over 300 years of New England History. Visit the nine furnished homes, businesses and period gardens ranging from 1695 to 1955.

We arrive in Kennebunkport in time for lunch on your own and browsing the shops on the waterfront. After lunch we'll meet our Guide* and discover charming Kennebunkport including views of the Bush Estate, Wedding Cake House & a tour* of the Franciscan Monastery. Next we'll visit LL Bean and time will be given for shopping. Dinner* is included this evening in Portsmouth.


Day #7 - Friday, October 3rd:

Another Deluxe Continental Breakfast* awaits us before we set out for more beautiful fall foliage scenery.

Tour* through "Castle in the Clouds, a picturesque Estate perched in the scenic Ossippee Mountains high above New Hampshire's largest lake - Lake Winnipesaukee. You'll view breathtaking fall foliage today. Next we'll experience a true New England Country Store - Moultonboro Country Store*. Franconia Notch Visitor's Center* is nestled in the White Mountains with great foliage views. See the orientation film to park with the Flume, Old Man on the Mountain history and New Hampshire's flora and fauna. See New Hampshire Exhibits on wild life and the mountainous environment. You'll have time for lunch on your own at the cafÈ located here. We'll stop at Vermont's Little Grand Canyon - Quechee Gorge*. We arrive at our home for the next 2 nights - the North Star Lodge in Killington, Vermont. Dinner* is included this evening.


Day #8 - Saturday, October 4th:

A Full Breakfast* awaits us this morning at the hotel before we depart for Northern Vermont.

Our guide* meets us and then we're off to the Morse Family Maple Farm where you'll see how maple syrup is made and taste the different grades. Shop the Country Store located here. It's time to depart towards Montpelier - home to the U.S.'s smallest capital. We'll make a photo stop at the Gold Domed Capital Building. Enjoy an exquisite hot & cold buffet & Austrian Pastry Cart* at Von Trapp's Lodge. Visit the property, Lodge, Gift Shop and learn about the "Sound of Music" Family. Finally we'll make a stop at Ben & Jerry's* where we'll visit the ice cream facility and you can enjoy a taste. Dinner is on your own tonight as there
is a restaurant next to the hotel.


Day #9 - Sunday, October 5th:

Rise & Shine to a Full Breakfast* before we depart to explore Southern Vermont.

This morning we'll tour* Hildene Estate & Gardens, home of the Lincoln family descendents. This 24-room Georgian Revival mansion features original furnishings, family artifacts, gorgeous gardens and a 1000 piece Aeolian Organ played for each group.

Nestled in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains, we arrive at Stockbridge, Massachusetts where you can take time for lunch on your own and explore this charming New England Village, which is home to the beloved Norman Rockwell. Early afternoon finds us at the Norman Rockwell Museum for a tour*. You'll receive an introductory talk and then you're able to browse the many galleries and experience the largest collection of original art by America's most beloved illustrator. Don't forget to visit the gift shop while here. We arrive in Albany, New York for our overnight stay. Dinner* is included this evening.


Day #10 - Monday, October 6th:

A Full Breakfast* is included this morning before we depart.

We check out, board the coach and travel west this morning towards Lake Canandaigua. Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery as we travel. Upon arrival we'll board a 19th-Century paddlewheel steamboat for a Luncheon Cruise*. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the breathtaking scenery aboard the charming Canandaigua Lady. There will also be historic narration of the surrounding area. Upon docking, we'll re-board our awaiting motorcoach and depart farther west towards our home for the night - the Sleep Inn & Suites* in Austintown, Ohio.


Day #11 - Tuesday, October 7th:

Enjoy a Deluxe Continental Breakfast* before we begin the final leg of our journey home.

7:30 AM - It's time to board the coach and depart towards home after a memorable tour of the Grand New England States. We'll make rest & meal stops as we travel. Don't forget to set your watches back an hour to Central Standard Time upon arrival in Illinois.

6:30 PM - Approximate arrival time back in Peoria.
