Other Multi-Day Tour - 4 Days / 3 Nights July 9 - 12, 2008

Day #1 - Wed., July 9th:

7:00 AM - Depart from your designated pickup location at the time listed on your final confirmation, which you will receive 2 weeks prior to departure. We'll make rest & meal stops along the way. Don't forget to set your watches an hour ahead as we enter Michigan and the Eastern Time Zone.

5:00 PM - Arriving at the hotel in Auburn Hills, you'll have time to relax and freshen up prior to heading out to dinner.

7:00 PM - Dinner* is served this evening at the Hard Rock CafÈ! Enjoy your choice of a Country Charbroiled Burger, Cajun Grilled Chicken Breast sandwich, Caesar Salad, Pulled Pork sandwich or Bodacious Chicken Tenders.

8:30 PM - Approximate return time to the hotel.


Day #2 - Thurs., July 10th:

Full American Breakfast Buffet* is included here at the hotel.

8:15 AM - This morning we're off to visit Cranbrook Institute of Science for a tour*. Cranbrook Institute of Science is a great place to explore science, technology, and natural history. Over 200,000+ visitors each year appreciate the value of the Institute's fascinating exhibits, hands-on activities, and planetarium shows. At the Institute you will discover family-friendly events, up-to-date scientific information, and some pretty outstanding sights. From sparkling diamonds to the towering T. rex, to live animals in the Bat Zone, you will find something of interest. (9:00 - Noon Reservations)

Noon - Next we're off to the Detroit Zoo* for an afternoon of wild adventure. You'll learn how to identify animals, all about their habitat/range, diet, predators, how they reproduce, and their conservation status. Designed to simulate natural environments, habitats are laid out over 125 acres of landscaped grounds. Highlights are a 4-acre great ape complex, a snow monkey area with a hot spring, a reptile house, a free-flight aviary, and penguin & polar bear exhibits. (12:30 - 5:00 PM)

5:30 PM - We head over to Comerica Park for an evening game with the Detroit Tigers. Their opponents have yet to be determined. We've included a hot dog/hamburger dinner* here tonight. *This attraction is subject to change as they may not be in town while we're there. Will substitute if necessary.


Day #3 - Fri., July 10th:

Another Full American Breakfast Buffet* awaits us before we depart for an all-day tour.

9:00 AM - Today we're off for the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village*. This five-venue complex commemorates 300 years of the American experience through exhibits, tours, programs & special events. The Henry Ford Museum celebrates American innovative genius housing presidential limousines, the chair in which Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in and a folding camp bed used by George Washington. Greenfield's more than 90-acres include 8 historic districts with buildings of historic significance. Vintage transportation, skilled artisans and costumed presenters can be seen throughout the village. We've even included $15 in Fun Money* to use towards lunch.

5:00 PM - It's time to depart for the hotel for the evening. Dinner is on your own this evening.


Day #4 - Sat., July 11th:

Our final Full American Breakfast Buffet* is served before we check out and visit one more attraction before departing for home.

7:30 AM - We check out, board the coach and depart for downtown Detroit.

8:00 AM - This morning we pick up our Step-on Guide* to explore a unique oasis on the Detroit River - Bell Isle. Learn about the history of the island and visit some of the fountains, sculptures and landmarks that make Belle Isle so popular. After our 90-minute tour, we end at the Detroit Historical Society to tour*. Cobblestone streets, 19th century stores, an auto assembly line, toy trains, and a fur trading post from the 1700s are only a few of the wonders to see at the Detroit Historical Museum. For more than 75 years, the Museum has chronicled the life and times of the region, safeguarding its rich history.

Noon - It's time to depart towards home after a great time exploring "Motor City". We'll make rest and meal stops along the way as needed. Don't forget to set your watches back an hour as we enter Illinois and the Central Time Zone.

8:30 PM - This is the approximate arrival time back in Peoria. Please refer to the final itinerary for the return time to your specific pickup location.
