Day #1 - Tuesday, September 9th: 8:00 AM - Depart from your designated pickup location at the time listed on your final confirmation, which you will receive 2 weeks prior to departure. Enjoy Continental Breakfast* as we travel and we'll also make rest & meal stops along the way. 5:00 PM - We arrive in Omaha and check into our home for the next 3 nights - the Comfort Inn*. You'll have time to freshen up prior to our evening out. 6:30 PM - Enjoy an evening of dancing, singing and food! You'll love the authentic meal & entertainment* at the German American Society Center. After dinner, the society's German Dance group performs dances from various regions of Germany. The men's choir leads a traditional German sing-a-long with us for a night to remember. (6:30 - 8:30 PM) Day #2 - Wednesday, September 10th: Continental Breakfast* is served at the hotel followed by yet another day of visiting other countries! 8:30 AM - This morning you'll enjoy an entertaining "Introduction to Omaha's Past, Present & Future" with Betty Davis - a fantastic story-teller. Our tour* will include a drive by Warren Buffets house. (8:30 - 10:00 AM) 10:15 AM - Next we'll visit Stoysich House of Sausage for a "Presentation on Sausage"*. Tour* one of Omaha's landmarks! Learn about the Stoysich family and their passion of making nearly 40 different kinds of sausage. Hear about the history of sausage and the various varieties of sausage. There will be "free samples" as well as time to purchase your own supply. (10:15 - 11:15 AM) 11:45 AM An Irish Luncheon complete with Folksinger* is included at the Brazen Head Irish Pub & Restaurant today. (11:45 - 1:15 PM) 1:30 PM - Our afternoon starts off with a personal tour* of the Boys Town campus. You'll tour the Hall of History and the 1920's home of Father Flanagan - Omaha's most famous Irish son. (1:30 - 3:00 PM) 3:30 PM - Our final stop this afternoon is at the Hindu Temple for a tour*. You'll be greeted at the front entrance of this amazing structure by elephants. Inside you'll learn about the religious customs associated with the Hindu religion. Shoes MUST be removed in the temple and no shorts are allowed. (3:30 - 4:45 PM) 5:00 PM - We've got a little time to freshen up and take a breather after our day of touring before we set out for our evening event. 6:00 PM - An authentic Greek Dinner* is served by parishioners of the Byzantine Church before we begin our tour*. The tour includes a presentation on the History of Orthodox Christianity, Byzantine iconography, vestments, architecture and traditions. A lesson in Greek culture and dancing will also be presented. (6 - 7:30 PM) Day #3 - Thursday, September 11th: Continental Breakfast* is served again at the hotel. 8:45 AM - We find ourselves at the Lithuanian Bakery for a tour & presentation*. You'll learn about the making of bread and torts. The presentation also includes information about the family coming to the United States after World War II. Enjoy a sample tray of torts while here and feel free to make purchases to take home with you. (8:45 - 9:35 AM) 10:00 AM - We're off to the Henry Doorly Zoo IMAX Theatre for a show* (TBD). This information will be updated as to what show you'll enjoy as time comes closer. (10:00 - 10:45 AM) 11:00 AM - Are you ready for lunch? The Renaissance Mansion is well known for it's elegant atmosphere combined with excellent food and professional staff. Master chief Joe Krug will give a presentation on Swedish food items, traditions and culture. Following you'll enjoy a delicious Swedish Smorgasbord*. (11 - 12:30 PM) 12:45 PM - This afternoon we'll tour* another of Omaha's landmarks - the St. Cecilia Cathedral. Learn about the 50-year process of building this massive structure with its two twin Spanish bell towers. Watch a short film and tour* the Cathedral with a private guide. The Cathedral has within it, a $1.5 million dollar Spanish Colonial Art collection. (12:45 - 2:15 PM) 2:30 PM - We're headed for Scotland as we tour* Joslyn Castle! This 35-room Scottish style mansion has woodwork from all continents in the world and is a very impressive historic structure. It's considered to be one of the top group attractions in Omaha. While here you'll enjoy a performance* by flutist, Michael Murphy and you'll enjoy tea & scones*. (2:30 - 4:00 PM) 4:15 PM - It's time to depart for the hotel so you have time to freshen up for this evening's event in Spain & Mexico. (4:15 - 5:30 PM) 6:00 PM - Dinner* is served at a local restaurant that is operated by a family from Barcelona, Spain. Enjoy the artwork and the Spanish dÈcor as you dine on an assortment of tappas. We've also arranged for a Flamenco Dancer & Guitarist* to entertain you while you dine. (6 - 7:30 PM) 8:00 PM - Following dinner, we are off for El Museo Latino Museum for a tour*. Here you'll enjoy their collection of artwork - some even from Cuba! Also included is the Cho Mari Ballet Folklorico and Folk Dancers of Mexico performance*. (8 - 9:00 PM) Day #4 - Friday, September 12th: Our final Continental Breakfast* awaits you before we depart for home. 8:00 AM - Let's say good-bye to Omaha as we make our way towards home making rest and meal stops as needed along the way. 5:00 PM - This is the approximate arrival time back in Peoria. Please refer to the final itinerary for the return time to your specific pickup location.
